‘Fearless Girl’ is heading to Europe.

“Fearless Girl” is bullish on travel. The Lower Manhattan statue of a young girl with her fists on her hips in a defiant display of resilience will cross the pond to visit Dublin and London. The statue, which was created by sculptor Kristen Visbal, will first make a stop next month in Ireland, appearing at Europe’s Climate Innovation Summit at Dublin Castle from Nov. 6-8. Finance Minister Michael D’Arcy said the 4-foot-tall “Fearless Girl” is “a wonderful and inspiring symbol of leadership in tackling the challenges that we all face.”The bronze statue, which was commissioned by State Street Global Advisors, was erected in March 2017 on the eve of International Women’s Day. Ann Prendergast, head of State Street Global Advisors Ireland, said the statue’s purpose is “aspirational and inspirational.”“We’re proud of the role she has played in sparking the conversation around women in leadership and workplace gender diversity, and we are delighted she is coming to Dublin to support Climate Week events,” she said earlier this month. By the end of the year, “Fearless Girl” is slated to be moved from near the “Charging Bull” sculpture in Bowling Green to the street in front of the New York Stock Exchange. And next year, it will once again head back to Europe, where it will spend about six months in London beginning in March. Members of London’s Culture, Heritage and Libraries Committee are expected to approve the plan during their meeting on Monday. The statue’s critics have included the creator of “Charging Bull,” Italian-born sculptor Arturo Di Modica, who has said “Fearless Girl” violated his copyright. Bowling Green Association Chairman Arthur Piccolo, who helped secure “Charging Bull’s” permanent home in the Financial District, reacted with glee when he heard of the headline-grabbing statue’s imminent departure.“BOWLING GREEN WILL BE FREE AGAIN just as it was the first time when the British left Bowling Green on Evacuation Day November 25, 1783,”
