Photographer swims just inches from vicious crocodiles in Mexico to snap the reptiles and prove they do not always attack humans.

A photographer with a passion for wild animals was able to get up close and personal with one of the natures most powerful beasts to prove they are not as scary as people think.
Alex Suh has travelled to the Banco Chinchorro reef, in Mexico, three times in the past three years to get into the waters and capture the crocodiles in their natural habitat. The pictures, taken in July, show the photographer just inches away from the carnivorous crocs who seem more than happy to pose for the camera. Alex, who works in shark conservation and is the founder of Save My Fin, is a strong believer that humans and wild animals can co-exist and that crocodiles are not automatic killers. The American crocodile can only be found within the US in Florida and has experienced a resurgence after nearly disappearing from the state entirely during the 1970s. Numbers of the fearsome creatures have climbed to around 2,000 up from a meagre 700 crocodiles 40 years ago. Crocodiles had been endangered up until 2007 because they were hunted for their skin which was often made into fashion accessories.
