Walkers unveils Brussels SPROUT flavour as part of a new festive range .

It may still be 10 weeks until Christmas but supermarkets shelves are already stacked high with weird and wonderful festive foods. And Walkers is the latest company to release a Yuletide snack in the form of its first-ever Brussels sprouts flavoured crisps. In fact, the UK's first crisp brand has launched five delicious festive flavours: Turkey & Stuffing, Pigs in Blankets, Glazed Ham, Cheese & Cranberry as well as the sprout flavour snacks. The company has even produced rival multi-bags of crisps dependent on whether your a sprout lover or a loather. The Christmas dinner for sprout lovers includes Brussels Sprouts, Turkey & Stuffing and Pigs in Blankets flavours. And for those not so keen on the festive veg there is the Christmas dinner for sprout haters including Glazed Ham, Turkey & Stuffing and Cheese & Cranberry flavours in a multi-pack.
Andrew Hawkswell, Marketing Manager at PepsiCo who own Walkers, said: 'Here at Walkers, we know that Christmas isn't Christmas without sprouts. 'Whether you grin or grimace at the sight of them, nothing divides the nation more at Christmas than a sprout so we have created two Christmas Dinner multipacks, one for sprout lovers and one for haters to keep the peace this festive season.' The limited-edition range will be available from 15th October from all leading retailers costing 65p for a single bag and £1.50 for a selection bag. But while Walkers latest flavour may be a little unusual it is nothing compared to Iceland's latest offering.
The freezer giant has released the festive-themed snacks this month as thoughts turn to seasonal food including a Christmas tree flavoured crisp. Pitched as 'pine salt flavour hand-cooked potato crisps', the front of the £1 packet features a photo of some tree foliage. Part of a range that also includes 'pigs in blankets' and 'lobster cocktail', the most avant-garde of the range the tree hasn't gone down particularly well on social media. Radio 2 presenters Jeremy Vine posted a photo of himself holding up a bag of the crisps with the word 'Honestly?' written across it and he seems to share the view of the masses on the subject of crisps that are flavoured to taste like trees.
