When this young girl’s mom was all set to marry her fiancé she had gotten the proposal and the engagement ring the soon-to-be-dad had another plan to execute. Andrew Mast, 33, an Air Force sergeant from Ohio, had just proposed to his girlfriend, Tia Warner, 28, from Delmar, Maryland. Tia’s young daughter, Te’Kia, 12, was not about to be left out of the equation. In a video posted on Facebook, Mast is seen sitting next to Te’Kia as he prompts her to reveal the little secret between the pair.“What was our secret?” he asks. Te’Kia affirms that he was going to ask her mom to marry him.“I was going to ask her, right? Look at your mom’s hand,” says Mast. “I asked her last night.”Te’Kia is then seen staring wide-eyed at the beautiful ring on her mom’s finger. The mast is not finished yet though and adds: “So, now, here’s the thing though. You are already my kid. When I marry your mom, it’s like legal that you’re my kid, like in a legal sense, right? So it’s not just your mom that I proposed to.”Mast then kneels before Te’Kia, and just like a magician, he produces another sparkling ring this time for her and says, “I want to see if you will be my daughter.”“Yeah,” Te’Kia replies, as Mast places the special diamond ring on her finger. She is one lucky young lady!
“Come give me a hug,” he says as Tia is overcome with joy.“I didn’t know what her reaction would be, honestly, but I’m so glad she was happy and excited,” Warner said.“As he takes me as his wife, he wanted to ensure that she knew she was his daughter as well. We don’t believe in “step” in our family.”This couple is starting off their journey in the family stakes on the right foot.“It’s not about who your birth parents are it’s about who raised you. We are all blessed to have one another,” Warner added.
