This is the moment a paraglider's landing goes unexpectedly wrong when's attacked by a kangaroo. Jonathan Bishop was touching down after two hours in the air above Namadgi National Park's Orroral Valley, just outside Canberra, Australia when he saw two kangaroos approaching him. Footage captured by the man's GoPro shows one of them going the opposite way, but the one ahead storms ahead towards the 35-year-old, still hooked to his flying equipment. Thinking him a friendly roo, the man can be heard saying: "What's up Skip?"
But the animal then delivers a one-two punch before leaving to join his companion. Jonathan is seen scrambling to defend himself but his movements are inhibited due to the gliding equipment still attached to him. Luckily for Australian Airforce member, he escaped the attack uninjured.
"I packed up my paraglider and I had to walk several kilometres to get phone reception and call a friend to come and collect me," he said. Recollecting his traumatic landing, Jonathan added: "I thought it was just being friendly, to begin with. I was frightened when it started attacking me. I didn't know if it would keep going or if it would just give me one swipe and leave me alone," he told 10daily."My immediate reaction was oh jeez this could take a while."
