Having lost her beloved mum, Jennifer, to cancer in December, this was four-year-old Ella Lennon's first Mother's Day without her. However, thanks to one kind-hearted Royal Mail worker, the day passed a lot less painfully for the grieving youngster. Ella, from Kilmarnock, had posted her mum a heartfelt, homemade card, to show her how much she loves her ahead of Mothering Sunday. She addressed the envelope with: "To Mummy in heaven, Happy Mother's Day. I love you, Ella x."To the family's joy and surprise, Ella then received a tear-jerking reply
.

Her aunt, Linda Ross, shared the touching letter on Twitter. She wrote: "On my sister's 1st heavenly Mother's Day, Ella sent her mummy a card."Today a kind stranger from the Royal Mail used their time to reply and make a little girl so happy!"Her face lit up with the biggest smile. Just shows the amazing people in this world! Can't thank you enough!"Ella's card had a picture of one of the minions from Despicable Me, along with the caption, "You're one in a minion, Mum".Two days after posting the card, Ella got a reply, which read: To my beautiful Ella. Thank you so much for my very special Mother's Day card. "You're one in a minion to me and I love you very, very much. Millions and billions and trillions are how much I love you!

"You are growing up to be a very clever and special big girl, and I am so proud of you. And even though I am in heaven, I watch over you every day!"Lots of love, hugs and kisses, Mummy xxx." Ella's dad Dean also posted on social media to express his gratitude: "I would like to thank the kind-hearted person at the Royal Mail who sent Ella back a letter from her mummy in heaven. Her wee face was lit up x."The exchange between Ella and the thoughtful person behind the reply has touched the hearts of others. Even a quick glance at the comments shows a lot of tears have been shed for the little girl who wanted to wish her mum a happy Mother's Day.
