Three historic beauty queens of America right now who are all black.

Aside from making the black community in the U.S. feel black and proud, the names Chelsie Kryst, Nia Franklin and Kaleigh Garris have since May 2, 2019, broken the internet and made all other forms of entertainment news less relevant.
The three black beauty queens do not only hold 3 of the most important and coveted pageant titles in the U.S. but have contributed to black history by making 2019 the year three black women were beauty queens in America.
Chelsie Kryst – Miss USA
She might be the newest queen on the block having been crowned on May 2, 2019, but among the three, Miss USA 2019 Chelsie Kryst is the oldest at 28. A few days ago, the new queen who will be representing the U.S. in the 2019 Miss Universe competition took to YouTube to share a typical day in her life. The 2 minutes and 3 seconds video highlights very specific routines and shows how she transforms from a regular worker in the day to beauty queen after working hours. Born on April 28 1991, Chelsie followed in her mom’s footsteps who competed and won the Miss North Carolina pageant when Chelsie was still a little child. A few years later saw Chelsie herself win several beauty pageants in her school such as the Miss Freshman at Northwestern High School and Miss Fort Mill High School and ultimately becoming Miss North Carolina. But pageantry is not the only thing of interest to her. The beautiful Miss USA 2019 works as a civil litigation attorney and runs a blog on the side which helps women know what to wear to work. Chelsea holds a degree in Marketing and Human Resource, a degree as a Juris Doctor (the highest law degree in the United States) and a Masters in Business Administration.
Nia Franklin – Miss America 2019
25-year-old Nia Franklin is Miss America 2019 and a composer by profession having gained a degree in music composition and a Masters in Music. Her work as a music composer has led her to write original music, the most popular being King Solomon. In 2017, she moved to New York after being selected as a William R. Kenan Jr. fellow with the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ education division. It was there that she competed for Miss New York 2018, won and went on to win Miss America 2019. Born on July 27 1993, Nia grew up with her family in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where she won Miss Black and Gold. In 2018, she sang the National Anthem at the 2018 Military Bowl.
Kaleigh Garris – Miss Teen USA 2019
Following her win as Miss Teen USA 2019, Kaleigh Garris gained major popularity for rocking her natural hair during the pageant. Founder of the We Are People 1st, an NGO that works with people living with disabilities, the teen beauty queen was inspired to start the organisation through her sister who lives with several disabilities. Kaleigh was born on August 21, 2000, and is currently a dual-enrolled student at Joseph A. Foran High School in Milford, Connecticut and the ACES Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven, where she studies theatre. Her goal is to become a nurse. She won Miss Connecticut Teen 2018 which gave her the ticket to compete in the Miss Teen USA 2019.
