Growing up as the son of a preacher in the tiny black community of Val Verde, north of Santa Clarita, Shelby Jacobs encountered a lot of social barriers like so many black people during that period. A horribly abused dog was discovered wandering on a rural road in Indiana back on Nov 2018. An unnamed good Samaritan reported the poor animal to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter staff who have since named the dog Justice.
