Turpin 'family TORTURE': Inside the SQUALID former home of 'House of Horrors' family.

But the Turpins’ former neighbour, Ricky Vinyard, a tree feller from Rio Vista, Texas, describes an even more horrifying state of the house and trailer in the backyard. Describing what he saw, Mr Vineyard said: “It was waist-deep in filth. The Turpin family’s former "House of Horrors" in Texas shows the shocking conditions the children were forced to live in 18 years before the alleged truth about the family came to light. David Allen Turpin, 57, and Louise Turpin, 49, lost the home in foreclosure 18 years ago and the new owners were so shocked about the state of the property they documented their horrifying finds. They originally thought the family were upset about losing their home but the arrests of David Allen Turpin, 57, and Louise Turpin, 49, last week made the new owners see the home in a different light.
The Turpin family then moved to a property in Rio Vista, which they lived in until 2010. Billy Baldwin, who bought the foreclosed Texas house in April 2011 described the condition of the home as “just nasty”.

The 17-year-old is said to have been working on the plan for two years. She brought one of her siblings with her, but they got scared and turned back. Officers thought she was a young child at first because she was so emaciated. They assumed all the other siblings were children too but were shocked to discover seven of them were aged between 18 and 29. The children could be split up after the six children were told they will be divided between two foster homes. The seven adults, who have developmental issues and are unable to look after themselves, will be sent to an assisted living facility. The younger children, aged between two and 17 years old, pleaded with authorities to stay as a family and police have recorded the siblings have a particularly special bond due to their imprisonment.

KABC
A photo shows the home in Fort Worth, Texas, where the Turpin family once lived.

Kenyan grandmother, 90, 'world's oldest primary school pupil'.

A 90-year-old grandmother, identified as Priscilla Sitienei, who hails from Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county, has not given up on education, as she’s enrolled in a primary school in Kenya.According to Priscilla, she chose to attend school simply because she had an eagerness to read the Bible and learn how to send an SMS on her phone. The relentless grandmother is enrolled at Vision preparatory and she is schoolmate with seven of her grandchildren.

Priscilla affectionately referred to as Gogo, which is the grandmother in Kalenjin, dedicated much of her life to raising her children and was a midwife for 65 years. She grew up under colonial rule and did not get the opportunity to go to school, so she took to education at her old age in a bid to empower herself.According to reports gathered, The old woman never shy away from learning and shares classes with children young enough to be her great-grandchildren.

A teacher in her school revealed that her attitude is admirable and proves to many in our society that it’s never too late to learn and accomplish your dreams.

Mrs Sitienei grew up under British colonial masters and never had the chance to go to school. She said she wants to be able to read the Bible, pass on her midwifery skills and write down the herbal remedies she uses in births. She also hopes to inspire those younger than her including her own classmates, aged between 10 and 14, some of whom she delivered as babies."Too many older children are not in school. They even have children themselves," they tell me they are too old. I tell them, 'Well I am at school and so should you'."Mrs Sitienei follows in the footsteps of the late Kimani Maruge, 84, who became the subject of a British-produced film called The First Grader, when he enrolled in a primary school in Eldoret, Kenya after the government announced the roll-out of free and universal primary education in 2003.Mr Maruge and teachers at the school were forced to fight the government to keep his place. In 2005, he was invited to address the United Nations Millennium Development Summit about the importance of free primary education.Mrs Sitienei also faced opposition when she first tried to enrol at her school, but headteacher David Kinyanjui said she is now a "blessing and a motivator"."I'm very proud of her," he said. "She is loved by every pupil, they all want to learn and play with her."She is doing well … considering her age I can say I have seen a big difference in this school since she came."Now a prefect, Mrs Sitienei takes part in Maths, English, PE, dance, drama and singing. She wears the school's blue uniform and green jumper and shares a dormitory with one of her great-great-grandchildren, where she delivers babies at weekends. She spends break-times telling stories to her classmates under trees near the playing fields to ensure her knowledge of local customs is passed on."I want to say to the children of the world, especially girls, that education will be your wealth, don't look back and run to your father," she said,"With education, you can be whatever you want, a doctor, lawyer or a pilot."

Police cooked lonely elderly couple dinner after they heard them crying.

When police heard reports of crying and shouting in Rome last Tuesday, they expected to find a crime. What they discovered instead, though, is absolutely heartbreaking. The four officers found 84-year-old Jole and her 94-year-old husband Michele in their small apartment, completely unaffected by any sort of wrongdoing. They were just watching TV.Jole asked her husband why there was so much hate in the news and burst into tears. She cried so hard that people called the police. The couple, who have been together for nearly 70 years, felt desperately lonely, telling officers it had been ages since they had a visitor.Officers made note of the sparse food in the kitchen, and as they waited for an ambulance to come check on the couple, one officer cooked pasta for them. The other three sat down with the couple to talk and keep them company. They said the loneliness was so suffocating at times that they had only a television to keep them company.Rome police shared the whole story on their Facebook page, which has been translated into English.

Disney is giving 125,000 of its employees $1,000 each.

Disney CEO Bob Iger (left) announced the bonuses.
DISNEY HAS ANNOUNCED that it will give over 125,000 of its employees a one-time cash bonus of $1,000.All non-executive employees, either full-time or part-time, who have been with Disney since January 1 this year will receive the windfall as long as they are based in the United States.Another $50 million is being invested in education programmes aimed at the company’s 88,000 hourly employees who want to pursue higher education or vocational training.A further $25 million will be invested in the programme each year after the initial investment.Disney says both of the moves are a result of recent tax reform. Several other high-profile American companies including Walmart, Bank of America, Crysler and Comcast have passed on a portion of their tax savings to employees.“I am proud we are directing approximately $125 million to our cast members and employees across the country and making higher education more accessible with the launch of this new program,” CEO Bob Iger said in a statement.I have always believed that education is the key to opportunity; it opens doors and creates new possibilities. Matched with the $1,000 cash bonus, these initiatives will have both an immediate and long-term positive impact. The bonus will be paid in two instalments in March and September this year. The two initiatives will cost Disney a total of $175 million in the current fiscal year.

In an example how a couple of minutes can make such a huge difference, Joaquin Jr Ontiveros came into the world 18 minutes before his sister Aitana de Jesus Ontiveros, but because the happy birth took place on the night of December 31, 2017, or the morning of January 1, 2018 (depending on how you look at it), the kid sister is actually now a whole year younger.Maria Esperanza Flores Rios gave birth to two babies within a gap of 18 minutes, but the children will bear two different years in their birth certificate. First came baby boy Joaquin Jr at 11.58 pm on December 31, 2017, and his baby sister Aitana de Jesus arrived 18 minutes later at 12.16 am on January 1, 2018. The Delano Regional Medical Center staff were so excited that they posted several news local reports with a picture of the mother and the twins on their Facebook page.According to the reports, these babies cam early mother Maria Esperanza Flores Rios actually had a C-section scheduled for next week before she went into labour 7 pm on New Year’s Eve. As per tradition, the Delano Regional Medical Center gifted the twins and their family presents worth $3,000 for being the first babies of 2018.This was not the first time that such an incident happened, back in 2015-2016 Jaelyn Valencia was born on 11.59 pm on December 31. After saying goodbye to 2015, the parents said hello to their new son Luis born at 12.02 am on New Year’s day. Man pranks police with snow car; gets a ‘parking ticket’ too!

It’s not everyday that you play a prank on law enforcement officers and they take it in the right spirit. But things worked out for this guy, who had some free time one day and a whole lot of snow at hand. Feeling a bit creative, the Montreal artist ‘sculpted’ a car out of the snow on the road to make things a bit interesting for the ploughers who come to clear the snow off the roads. This wasn’t the first time Canadian Simon Laprise has made snow sculptures, but definitely the first on ‘snow removal day’, and going by the success this fluke prank achieved, he told indianexpress.com, he intends to make some more soon, but didn’t specify what or where. The replica of the DeLorean sports car (from Back to the Future) was ‘parked’ on the road, and Laprise expected it to brew some trouble since it’s illegal to park on the street on days the ploughers come in. However, it was not the snow ploughers who fell for the trick. It was police instead! Yes, seeing the vehicle parked in the zone, a cop approached the vehicle in front of the artist’s home only to discover it was a snow sculpture and not a real car.The police officer who spotted the life-size ‘vehicle’ also called in reinforcement. Soon, seeing the car face-to-face the cop realised the joke. However, he was in no mood to let it go and even issued a parking ticket! Only, it had an appreciative note. The cop wrote a thank you note on the ticket in French, which read, “You made our night hahahahaha :)”Laprise took to Facebook to share the hilarious photos of the cop staring at the fake “DeLorean” parked in a snow removal zone. He apparently called for back up, because another patrol car is also seen in the photo. Later, however, the snow cleaners came and broke the sculpture.

Dublin hotel owner sends about £4,410,063 invoice to freebie-seeking blogger, after email goes viral

Image result for Dublin hotel owner sends about Rs 39 crore invoice to freebie-seeking blogger, after email goes viral
A cafe owner in Dublin, Ireland, took to Facebook as he ‘exposed’ a ‘social media influencer’ who had written to him asking for free stay at their hotel in return for “bringing traffic and recommending others to book up”. He shared a screenshot of her email to him, blackening out her ID and details of her online account handles, but criticised her for expecting free accommodation. Uploaded on January 16, his Facebook post has gone viral, with over 3,500 shares already at the time of writing. While many supported him, others called his response “kiddish” and a “bit too harsh”.The influencer said she and her partner were going to Dublin for an early Valentine’s weekend during February 8-12 and she “would love” to feature their hotel in her “YouTube videos/dedicated Instagram stories and posts… in return for free accommodation”. She wrote that she has worked with Universal Orlando in Florida and “it’s been amazing for them”.In his Facebook post with the letter, the cafe’s owner Paul Stenson responded, “Lucky for us, we too have a significant social media following. We have 186k followers on our two Facebook pages, an estimated 80k on our Snapchat, 32k on Instagram and a paltry 12k on our Twitter, but Jesus Christ, I would never in a million years ask anyone for anything for free. I also blog a bit (www.paulvstenson.com), which as far as I’m aware is another way of saying “write stuff on the internet'”. He also shared the link to a small, satirical video called the ‘House of Influencers’ for them to “learn from”.This is the Facebook post shared on the restaurant’s Facebook page and signed by Stenson, which subsequently went viral.
“Dear Social Influencer (I know your name but apparently it’s not important to use names),Thank you for your email looking for free accommodation in return for exposure. It takes a lot of balls to send an email like that, if not much self-respect and dignity. If I let you stay here in return for a feature in your video, who is going to pay the staff who look after you? Who is going to pay the housekeepers who clean your room? The waiters who serve you breakfast? The receptionist who checks you in? Who is going to pay for the light and heat you use during your stay? The laundering of your bed sheets? The water rates? Maybe I should tell my staff they will be featured in your video in lieu of receiving payment for work carried out while you’re in residence?Lucky for us, we too have a significant social media following. We have 186k followers on our two Facebook pages, an estimated 80k on our Snapchat, 32k on Instagram and a paltry 12k on our Twitter, but Jesus Christ, I would never in a million years ask anyone for anything for free. I also blog a bit (www.paulvstenson.com), which as far as I’m aware is another way of saying “write stuff on the internet”. The above stats do not make me any better than anyone else or afford me the right to not pay for something everyone else has to pay for.In future, I’d advise you to offer to pay your way like everyone else, and if the hotel in question believes your coverage will help them, maybe they’ll give you a complimentary upgrade to a suite. This would show more self-respect on your part and, let’s face it, it would be less embarrassing for you.
Best regards,
Paul Stenson”
Although Stenson had blackened out her personal details, it seems he shared her details publicly following which she was identified as Elle Darby. Soon she posted a video responding to Stenson, saying she had received a lot of hate online for asking for free stay and wanted to clarify her stand. She uploaded a video on YouTube, explaining her part of the story and starting of by emphasising on “how infuriated” she was at the ‘exposé’.If you thought that was the end of it, then you have another think coming. Stenson took things up a notch and has now sent her an invoice of £4,410,063 for boosting her online presence given that the cafe’s social media reach was much larger. He’s also banned all bloggers and reviewers from any freebies on his property.Much to the amusement of many, he shared a picture of the invoice on Twitter and Facebook, with the caption, “I’m posting out this invoice today…”.

When Amanda Bowman Gray asked her daughter Lydia to watch her 25-month-old son so she could take a shower, she was taken by surprise upon her return.Once Gray was finished in the bathroom, the mom of three stepped into the hallway and found her kids doing a duet of “You Are My Sunshine”.Want to know the most incredible part? Because Bo has Down syndrome, he only knows about 12 words – and “every word he has learned has been through music and singing.”Thanks to his sweet sister, however, he was able to pick up brand-new words from the song’s lyrics. In a video that Gray posted to Facebook earlier this week, Lydia can be seen strumming her guitar with her little brother by her side.As they sing, the toddler gets especially excited when he says the words “happy,” “grey,” “dear,” and “away”. It’s obvious that he can’t help but light up as he shows off his new vocabulary.
