16-Year-Old Shamrock Rovers Wonderkid Shows Why Liverpool Are Interested

Cork City and Shamrock Rovers played out a 0-0 draw tonight in the Airtricity League in what was another star showing for 16-year-old keeper Gavin Bazunu. Incredibly, the youngster kept his fourth clean sheet in a row for Stephen Bradley's side. That included an excellent penalty save. The result is a frustrating one for Cork City as Dundalk extended their lead at the top of the table.

We have reached half-time scoreless in Turner's Cross. Cork City have had the upper hand over the Hoops who will be happy enough to have shut out City so far. A couple of decent saves required by Gavin Bazunu.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp sent goalkeeping coach John Achterberg to watch Bazunu last week against Derry City and he is highly thought of in Britain, with Celtic, Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion all taking him on trial. The Liverpool goalkeeper requirement is well established, but Shamrock Rovers are equipped to deal with any potential transfer with Alan Mannus now at the club and Kevin Horgan to return.
