Niagara Falls Looks Like It Has Frozen Over And The Pictures Are Amazing
Winter might be cold and bleak but it does have its perks. Yep, those likes on Instagram. It's so cold that parts of Niagara Falls, the world-famous collection of waterfalls on the US-Canada border, have frozen over with amazing results showing that a layer of ice had formed over the waterfalls. The pictures flooding on to the 'gram is amazing.

Some of the snaps posted by brave visitors who clearly have no fear of the temperatures have given the illusion that the spectacle is frozen solid. According to BuzzFeed News, one person had estimated that it was around -35 degrees Celsius (-31 Fahrenheit) which makes us shiver at the thought. Emma Graham told CNN she felt like she was in 'Elsa's castle,' which is obviously referring to the 2013 Disney film, Frozen.

She added:"There was even this set of stairs that were placed just outside the look-on spot and they had so much ice on them, it looked like Elsa had just cast her arm out and summoned up some stairs like she does in the movie."Taking to Instagram, Inge Groot wrote: "The sun came out for only 15 minutes. Just to make this experience even more memorable I guess. I froze my butt off with -25."According to The Buffalo News, Niagara Falls hasn't actually frozen over and the falls don't stop flowing because the water in the Niagara River which pours over a top with a drop as high as 176 feet, builds up speed as it roars through the rapids just before the brink is flowing water. So there we have it, that's everyone told.

People have taken to social media to comment on their memories, one said: "When I lived up there I used to love going to the Falls in winter. It was at its most beautiful then."Another added: "One of my favourite memories was visiting the falls in winter! Love how magical it all looks!"And a third commented: "Niagara Falls in winter is my favourite time there. It's spectacularly beautiful. There's nothing like it."Rather you guys than us, brrrr.
