World's biggest crab sheds its ENTIRE shell in jaw-dropping


It’s the biggest crab species in the world, and now a Japanese spider crab has been caught on camera shedding its entire shell. Scientists at SeaWorld San Diego captured the incredible footage, which shows the animal’s dramatic moulting process. Mike Price, Curator at the aquarium, said: “It’s a perfectly natural occurrence for a spider crab.“But for us, as marine scientists to be able to witness Mother Nature in action in such an impressive way, that’s a great day at SeaWorld!
