Teacher repeatedly PUNCHES schoolgirl in the head to break up fight over boy

A teacher repeatedly punched a schoolgirl in the head as he tried to break up a fight between her and another classmate.
An eyewitness filmed the incident at a school in the city of Lovech, Bulgaria, where the two girls went for each other in the classroom children, believed to be aged 12 and 13 years old, were spotted by their teacher who attempted to pull them apart. Schoolteacher Georgi Dimitrov, 60, is seen punching one girl repeatedly in the head for several seconds and shouting: "Let go! Let go!", as he tries to stop her from pulling the other girl's hair. A boy is seen pushing his way into the room, clearly also wanting to break up the fight, but he is restrained by another teacher.
Mr. Dimitrov was later arrested and held in police custody for three days in connection with the incident. He has also been told to attend a disciplinary hearing where he faces the sack. The girl he was punching said she had wanted to let go of the other girl but had not known who was punching her and wanted to protect herself. She said she had suffered from headaches since the incident, and complained: "He hit only me, and he carried on hitting me."The girl's mother said she had not believed her daughter had been hit by the teacher until she saw the video. She said: "You don't educate children by beating them with your fists."But the other girl's mother defended the teacher who she said was protecting her daughter from being beaten up. She said: "For me, the teacher helped my child and I am behind him."Valya Todorova, the director of the school, said that she could not justify the actions of the teacher who would have to attend a disciplinary hearing where he faces dismissal. It is not reported whether he also faces criminal charges.
