This father’s T-shirt said it all. “Best. Dad. Ever.” The thoughtful dad didn’t mind making himself a laughingstock to teach his daughter an important lesson“modest is hottest.”One night, Scott Mackintosh, a father of seven children from Utah, decided to spend some quality time with his family. But just before heading out, Scott heard his wife, Becky, asking their then-teen daughter, Myley, to change into some longer shorts. Scott has always been concerned with Miley's skimpy dressing. “I’m a firm believer that the way we dress sends messages about us, and it influences the way we and others act,” he wrote on their blog. So, when Myley refused to obey Mom’s request, her dad decided to join her. Scott got a pair of scissors to cut some old jeans into a pair of daisy dukes. He wore his new super-tiny shorts and a shirt given by his older daughter on Father’s Day. This “small” fashion statement was his way of teaching his growing-up daughter that revealing shorts aren’t as “cute” as she thinks. However, the children failed to notice their dad’s “silly shorts” as their eyes were glued to their smartphones. It was only when Becky attempted to snap a photo of Scott, while the family was on their way to the restaurant, that they began to notice his fashion faux pas!“Oh my gosh, look at Dad!” Scott’s son said, “Why are you dressed like that?” said Myley. “Oh, I don’t care. It’s you that’s going to be embarrassed.”
Scott wore the ridiculous outfit throughout the outing. He had it on while having dinner at a restaurant, and even when they played miniature golf.“People were snickering, pointing,” Becky said A couple of girls were even lining up to have a “Kodak Moment” with the cool dad. “I was embarrassed but I was hoping it would be a really good lesson,” Becky said Scott’s plan work? Well, sort of…Scott wore the ridiculous outfit throughout the outing. He had it on while having dinner at a restaurant, and even when they played miniature golf. People were snickering, pointing,” Becky told Good Morning America. A couple of girls were even lining up to have a “Kodak Moment” with the cool dad. “I was embarrassed but I was hoping it would be a really good lesson,” Becky said. Did Scott’s plan work? Well, sort of…According to their blog, Myley didn’t seem to care initially, but as the family walked to the miniature golf area, she avoided her dad, not letting him “stay very close to her.” And as the family headed to Arctic Circle for milkshakes, Myley stayed in the car, reluctant to “go through any further embarrassment.”In the end, it turned out Myley understood her dad had her best interests at heart.“They got the point across, yes!” Myley told ABC News. “Mostly I just learned the lesson of how much he loves me and that he really cares about it.”Myley later took to Tumblr to share a photo of her dad in his daisy dukes, which went viral. For this amazing dad, he simply hopes his daughter will know of his great love for her and her great worth.
