Still ageing like fine wine, legendary musician and actress Diana Ross turn 75 two days ago. Rising to prominence in the 1960s as the lead singer of The Supremes, who are till date the most successful vocal group in America, Ross embarked on a solo career after leaving the group in 1970 releasing several chart-topping singles and albums onwards. Ross was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1993 as the most successful female musician in history both as a solo artist and as a member of The Supremes with 70 hit singles and 100 million records sold. Other notable accolades to her name include being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Supreme, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, receiving the highest civilian decoration in the United States, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, among several others. Ross also had stellar acting career featuring in several movies and television programs notably earning an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Lady Sings the Blues which was released in 1972 as well as a Golden Globe Award nomination for Out of Darkness which was released in 1994.
