Fast Food Restaurant Employee Sacked For Bathing In Kitchen Sink.

Taking a bath at work is not ordinarily the done thing.
It's definitely not the done thing when you work in a fast-food restaurant and it's even less of a done thing if you take said bath in the kitchen sink. One man in the US clearly didn't get the memo though, after doing just this and subsequently/unsurprisingly getting the sack. Footage of the unnamed man having a kitchen sink bath at a Florida branch of Wendy's was shared on Snapchat. In the video, the sink is full to the brim with soapy water and the employee can be seen clambering in wearing only shorts. His colleagues can be heard laughing as he asks them to 'turn the jets on'. The man can then be seen washing his armpits before scrubbing himself with a piece of kitchen towel. Presumably, he hoped the prank would remain a joke between friends, however, the video was shared online and it quickly went viral, earning widespread criticism. One person said: "This makes you wonder what else is going on at that restaurant, someone needs to get fired, the sink needs to be sanitised."Another commented: "Soooooooooo that's where Wendy's gets its special taste from. Oh, Jeezus Christus where do these cretins come from."A third added: "They all should've been fired and the place should be closed. Never eat at Wendy's."However, some people saw the funny side or perceived there to be a funny side at least. One person said: "To all the grouches: It was inappropriate, unprofessional, unsanitary... but also funny. Wash the sink with chemicals, and all will be fine."It's safe to say the man's employers didn't find it funny though, as they have now sacked him. In a statement, Mike Johnson - a representative from Carlisle who owns that particular franchise of Wendy's - said: "We are taking this incident seriously and it is obviously unacceptable."This was a prank by a person who no longer works at this restaurant, and who clearly did not use good judgement. We are taking this opportunity to reinforce our very strict quality procedures with our restaurant team."The day after the bath time footage was recorded, the restaurant was also visited by inspectors from the Department of Business and Professional regulation and it passed a sanitation inspection. Despite this, the restaurant has received dozens of poor reviews on its Facebook page since the video emerged. The moral of the story then - if you work in a fast food restaurant, don't take a bubble bath in the kitchen sink; if you must, don't let somebody film it and put it on social media.
