Mum's Lego cards horror after son, 7, opens packet with teeth to discover KNIFE inside
A horrified mum has warned other parents to be careful after her young son opened a packet of Lego cards - and found a KNIFE inside. Furious Kirsty Thorne, 27, said her son Harrison, seven, is lucky to have avoided injury after opening the box with his teeth. The cards had been purchased from Sainsbury's. Mum-of-four Kirsty said Harrison was looking forward to adding to his collection with the Lego card collectors' album from the supermarket in Ashford, Kent. When Kirsty's children returned home from school on September 25, they opened the packet and discovered the blade. She said: "They brought over this Stanley blade to me which was still in the packet.
"It was wrapped up in tape, which was stuck to the seal, but it was the perfect size for the pack so it was unnoticeable beforehand."I was angry, I have a one-year-old and if it had dropped onto the floor he could've easily eaten it. I was really annoyed."Kirsty, from Stanhope, Kent, stormed over to Sainsbury's to complain and was given a £10 voucher. She added: "You shouldn't have to check a pack of children's cards for blades.
"When they came out the albums were so sought after - it's just horrendous."Fortunately, no one was cut, otherwise, this would have been a completely different story."A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said the supermarket giant is aware of the complaint. She said: "We are aware of an issue with a pack of Lego cards."This appears to be an isolated and unusual incident which we are investigating with our supplier."
