Owner shares heartbreaking warning about rope toys after golden retriever dies
Indira Tucker said that though they may look "extremely sturdy and impossible to destroy", a rope toy cost her golden retriever her life. The woman left her dogs playing with the toy, a length of rope knotted into a ball at the end, but came back to find that it had been torn to shreds."I quickly threw them away hoping none of the dogs swallowed the pieces. Unfortunately one of our dogs was not so lucky," she wrote on Facebook. The animal had eaten pieces of the rope, which made their way through her digestive system. The pieces unravelled inside her, tearing holes in her intestines as she tried to pass.
.

Vets removed three feet of rope from the dog and were also forced to remove parts of her intestine. Sadly, the damage killed her."We did not even have the option of having another surgery," Indira continued."She quickly became septic and bled from her intestines into her stomach."The damage from the rope was so extensive that she passed away two days later."Linear objects are among the most dangerous things a dog can swallow, she added."This was a senseless and avoidable death."These items should not be sold for dogs."

A former Bronx man of Albanian nationality has been arrested in Montana after revealing to an FBI informant his plans to join ISIS and avenge the Christchurch mosque shootings. Fabjan Alameda, 21, was taken into custody at a gun range in Bozeman on April 3, according to the Department of Justice, after he allegedly took possession of an M1A rifle he had rented. His arrest took place without incident, the DOJ said in a statement.“Fabjan Alameti recently moved to Bozeman from another state,” said Paul Haertel, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Salt Lake City Field Office. “We want to make it absolutely clear that Mr Alameti has no known ties to Montana or any affiliation with the Muslim community in Bozeman,” he said. Alameda faces gun possession and drug charges. He was also charged with making false statements involving international terrorism.U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah Lynch ordered him detained for further proceedings. If found guilty on the most serious charge, Alameti faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release.FBI Special Agent Matthew Duermeier, whose sworn statement filed with the court was cited by the Associated Press, provided details of the investigation into Alameti’s alleged links to ISIS and terrorist intent. Alami reportedly made pro-ISIS statements on Facebook, according to Duermeier. The suspect also told an informant in January that he wanted to fight with ISIS in Iraq and Syria and to carry out an attack in the US against a military facility, recruitment centre, government building, “gay club” or Jewish temple, according to the FBI. Obermeier added that Alameti later said he would not actually carry out an attack in the United States because America had granted him citizenship. After shootings at two mosques in Christchurch left 50 people dead, Alameti allegedly told the informant, “I will attack random people to avenge their blood.”Accused gunman Brenton Harrison Tarrant of Australia faces 50 murder charges and 39 attempted murder charges for the March 15 massacre in two New Zealand mosques. According to The Associated Press, another federal informant recorded Alameti saying that he wanted to “shoot up” a hotel on American soil. On Wednesday, Alameda showed up at the firing range, paid $35 to rent an M1A rifle and was arrested when he took possession of it, Deurmeier said. Alameda also reportedly told an FBI informant he moved from his home in the Bronx to Bozeman last month because he hated his life in New York City.

In Less Than 24 Hours, House Democrats Unveil Three Efforts Targeting Trump.

The Democratic chairmen of three key House committees launched a multi-pronged attack on President Donald Trump on April 3, unveiling a request for the commander in chief’s tax returns, confirming plans to issue a subpoena for his financial records, and authorizing subpoenas for the release of the special counsel report by Robert Mueller. Early on April 3, the House Judiciary Committee voted to authorize Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), to issue subpoenas for the Mueller report and underlying document. Hours later, the Democratic chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform said he plans to issue a subpoena to Trump’s accounting firm after the company signalled its readiness to turn over 10 years of financial records upon being compelled by Congress. And before the day was over, the Democratic chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee used a little-known provision in the tax code to request six years of Trump’s tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). House Democrats have initiated a number of far-reaching efforts targeting Trump since gaining the majority after the 2018 midterm election, but the spree on April 3 was the busiest day in their campaign to pressure the president. The flurry of activity is the latest effort in the offensive campaign by the Democrats, which appears to have ramped up after Mueller exonerated Trump of collusion allegations and Attorney General William Barr concluded that there isn’t enough evidence of obstruction to bring a case against the president in a court of law. Nadler did not immediately issue any subpoenas for the Mueller report. The Democrats on the committee moved to authorize the subpoenas, despite Barr having indicated that he plans to release the report to Congress in mid-April. Mueller’s report will likely be redacted to protect grand jury testimony and information that links to ongoing investigations. If that ends up being the case, Nadler has indicated that he will fight to see the full report.“This committee requires the full report and the underlying materials because it is our job, not the attorney general’s, to determine whether or not President Trump has abused his office,” Nadler said April 3.In 1998, Nadler argued against releasing the full report by independent counsel Kenneth Starr which recommended the impeachment of Democratic President Bill Clinton, arguing that it would contain “all kinds of material that it would be unfair to release.”In a response to Nadler’s April 3 move, House Republicans wrote on Twitter that “without facts on their side, Democrats have put all their hope in optics. There is no legislative purpose to these subpoenas.”Not long after the judiciary committee voted to authorize the subpoenas, the Democratic chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) told reporters that Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars USA, had asked the committee for a “friendly” subpoena in order to comply with a request for 10 years of Trump’s financial records.“They have told us that they will provide the information pretty much when they have a subpoena,” Cummings said, according to Politico. “And we’ll get them a subpoena.”Cummings requested the documents from Mazars USA in a letter (pdf) on March 20. The request drew on information the committee gathered from the testimony of Trump’s former personal attorney, Michael Cohen. In a letter to Cummings, Republicans Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina wrote that the document request “appears to depart from responsible and legitimate oversight,” and was meant “solely to embarrass President Trump and to advance the relentless Democrat attacks upon the Trump administration.”Not long after the announcement by Cummings, the Democratic chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Richard Neal, asked the IRS for six years of President Donald Trump’s personal and business tax returns on April 3. Neal, from Massachusetts, made the request in a letter to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig.Neal wrote that his request was “in no way based on the emotion of the moment or partisanship” and based his request on his committee’s oversight jurisdiction of the IRS, specifically its alleged audits of Trump and the extent to which the agency has enforced the tax laws against the president. The top Republican on the Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas), promptly slammed Neal’s request, calling it “the latest effort from House Democrats in their misguided rush to impeach President Trump.”Trump brushed off the request, again saying he wouldn’t release the tax returns until the audit of the returns is completed.“I’ve been under audit for many years because the numbers are big and I guess when you have a name, you’re audited. But until such time as I’m not under audit, I would not be inclined to do that,” Trump said. The latest salvo by the Democrats is part of a larger campaign targeting the president. On April 3, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Democrat-led House Intelligence Committee is seeking to interview the top organizer of the president’s inaugural committee as part of an expanding probe into the committee’s fundraising. The intelligence committee on March 19 requested to interview and obtain documents from Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the producer and a vendor for Trump’s inauguration, according to a letter from Wolkoff’s lawyer. The committee is looking for documents related to contacts between the inaugural fund and foreign entities, specifically Russia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said on April 4 that “Democrats continue to show day in and day out that they’re nothing but sore losers.”“At some point, they have to realize that they have been beaten by President Trump in the 2016 election,” Sanders said.“I think they’re a sad excuse for a political party right now. At some point, they have to decide that they actually want to govern, and they actually want to change things, and make America better, and join the president in those efforts.”Our freedoms, our republic, and our constitutional rights have become contested terrain.
