dad-to-be cut in HALF in horrific hit and run by 'wealthy Russian.

A father-to-be was cut in half after being hit by a speeding car allegedly driven by the son of a wealthy, influential Russian. Ildus Mukhametov, 28, whose wife is expecting their first child, was killed instantly when he was struck on a pedestrian crossing in oil-rich city Ufa. The wealthy Russian scion who police said had drunk the equivalent of half a bottle of vodka rammed Mukhametov at up to 90mph, police said. Seconds after the horrific smash, which was caught on camera, the driver only identified as Andrey, 27, fled on foot with a friend but was soon apprehended by police.
The pair initially tried to confuse police as to who was driving. The upper part of his body smashed the windscreen and was wedged inside the car beside the front passenger seat. Severed body parts were strewn on the road. The car was travelling at more than twice the speed limit in the city, said law enforcement sources.
The victim’s mother Rimma Mukhametova, 51, said: “He was the eldest of my three children and I do not know how I will cope now.“He helped me in everything, supported me.“When his wife heard he had died, she was physically sick.
“They got married in spring and he was looking forward so much to being a father.“Why did God need to take my son so young?”The grieving mother said she was fearful that the driver’s family influential connections will save him from will avoid him facing the full force of the law.“He has an influential father and I fear he will escape punishment,” she said.
