Takeaways handed leaflets ordering them not to serve obese man 'as food may kill him'.

Leaflets warning takeaway workers not to serve a man have been distributed by his friends in a bid to save his life. Workers at fast-food outlets in Middlesbrough have been urged not to take any more orders from Darren McClintock.Darren, 27, better known as 'Dibsy', has been told by doctors that he urgently needs to change his eating habits, Teeside Live reports. His trainer, Mike Hind, has now produced leaflets for staff at local takeaways asking them not to serve Dibsy, who is well-known in the area for his charity work. Dibsy admits it’s a case of “life or death” after a health scare.

Now he’s embarking on a fitness journey with personal trainer Mike, from Mas Body Gym, who has chosen to train him for free.“The doctors have said keep going like you are going and you won’t be around for very much longer,” Dibsy told Teesside Live."I just want to be healthy so I can go out on a run and live my life, go to the Boro match, go out with the lads.”One of the places Dibsy has been known to turn to is his local takeaway. He admits he loves a parmo, but now Mike has produced leaflets discouraging fast food outlets from serving him. They say: “Save Dibsy. Obesity is killing him. Do not serve this man.”Mike explained that the leaflets aren’t about banning his client from takeaways he will be allowed treats but more about breaking him out of an addiction to food.“The next six or seven weeks is going to get difficult for Dibsy,” Mike said.
“What I want Dibsy to do is come to me for support and advice he’s used to turning to takeaways.”He added that the leaflets are purely for takeaway staff and not the general public. Each year Mike takes on a client for free in a bid to turn their life around. He said he received around 1,000 applications but he was drawn to Dibsy when he saw him at his gym’s macro-based Diner. A conversation with Dibsy and his mum followed.“His mum burst out crying and said no parent would want to bury her child,” Mike said. It was then he decided to take on the challenge to help Dibsy turn his life around. At present Dibsy has to book two seats on a plane if he wants to go abroad and says his weight means that he can’t learn to drive. He also has to order clothes that are specially sized at an extra cost. He added: “I have struggled with my weight all my life, I have tried all sorts. There have been points where I have got down. I have let myself down massively.“I have been given this one chance, I’m going to make the most of it, I’m going to seize every opportunity I have got.”He says he’s now relishing the opportunity to work with Mike, who was crowned the UK’s top personal trainer last year. He previously told Teesside Live how he started with just £50 in his pocket and now has a thriving gym and a diner that’s even popular with several first-team players at Middlesbrough FC. He’s made the shortlist in the personal trainer category again this year.
