However, due to the violent nature of the game and not wishing to promote the addictive nature of video games, Ilfracombe Primary School in Devon have opted to ban the dance. Headteacher Catherine Cox is quoted as saying: We want our school to be one in which human beings treat each other with kindness and appreciation. Fortnite is for 12 years plus. Fortnite is about the mass killing of other human beings and being awarded by a dance of celebration if you are successful. One of these dances is called the Nazi dance!. Fortnite is extremely addictive and playing violent games is associated with real-life aggressive behaviour and mental health issues. Children in our school have been using these dances to surround and intimidate other children. Parents of children at the school have voiced their disapproval of this policy saying that some of the kids enjoy the dance and that others haven't even heard of Fortnite. This isn't the first time that Fortnite has been in the news for the wrong reasons recently. Over the weekend it was revealed that children could be exposed to scams on the game which could endanger their families.
