Around 15 others were injured in the shooting, which took place at the Raul Brasil public school in Suzanne, on the outskirts of Sao Paulo in the southeast of the country. Television pictures showed worried family members congregating outside the Raul Brasil school in the greater Sao Paulo area, alongside firefighters and security services. The attack took place at around 9.30am during a recess period for some students, authorities said.
