Ten-year-old girl murdered in southwest Poland.

Body of a 10-year-old girl was found on Thursday in a forest, some 6 kilometres from Mrowiny (Lower Silesian Voivodeship).
The child has been murdered; the police call upon the residents to provide any information that may lead to the perpetrator. The autopsy revealed that several puncture wounds to the chest and neck led to the girl's death. "These wounds were numerous; this was a crime of sexual nature," said prosecutor Marek Rusin. The girl's body was found on Thursday about 5 pm in a forest, some 6 kilometres from Mrowiny, the village where the girl lived. The body was discovered by a woman who was taking a walk in the forest. "The body and place where it was found have been examined. The injuries on girl's body indicate that the perpetrator or perpetrators have committed a murder," prosecutor Marek Rusin said. On Friday evening, the autopsy of the 10-year-old girl was finished. It lasted 12 hours. Rusin confirmed that the victim was the resident of Growing who had been reported missing on Thursday. "The cause of death of the girl were puncture wounds to the chest and neck. These wounds were numerous; this was a crime of sexual nature," he explained. Prosecutor Rusin added that the police were carrying out routine checks on people living in the area, who had been accused of paedophilia-related crimes in the past. The police call upon the residents to provide any information that may lead to the perpetrator. "Residents may also notify the prosecutor's office should they have any information. All leads will be verified," said the prosecutor. The investigators stress that every detail, even seemingly unimportant, may turn out crucial. Any drivers who have dashcams installed in their vehicles and were in the area on Thursday afternoon are asked to provide the footage. "People are devastated, shocked and disoriented," said Katarzyna Popek, the administrator of Mrowiny village. "It's the first time such tragedy happens here," the local residents say.
