Man in 20s dead in latest London murder.


A young man has been shot dead in north London in the latest city murder. More than 60 people have now been senselessly murdered in the capital alone this year.
The gunning happened near a mosque in the Wembley area tonight, a short distance from the famous football stadium. Mo Butt, leader of Labour-controlled Brent Council, told Mirror Online: "We send out condolences to the family for their loss."It is shocking this has happened on our doorsteps in Brent."The victim, who was in his 20s, is said to have died within hours. Police confirmed a murder probe is now underway."Police were called to Harrow Road, HA9 at 20:10hrs on Friday, 5 July following reports of a shooting," a Met Police spokesman said."Local officers and armed police attended along with London Ambulance Service and found a man believed to be aged in his mid-twenties suffering from critical gunshot injuries."He was taken to a north London hospital but died a short while later."His next of kin have now been informed."A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits."A crime scene remains in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area."Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command will be investigating in close partnership with police in Brent."No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue."Local residents can expect an enhanced police presence in the area.
